Plant swaps are so much fun! If you’ve never been to one, this page should give you an idea of what happens at a swap.
When you first get there, park somewhere report writing homework help long enough to find a host so they can show you where to unload your things. You’ll probably be greeted before you even get out of your car!
There are a few tables in the pavilion at Mercer, but they fill up quickly so it’s always a good idea to bring your own table along with some chairs. We have a complete list of what to bring here.
The common practice is to set the plants you are soccer rebound wall trading on top of your table in full view. Plants you bring that are designated for “pre-trades” (trades you have already arranged through the forum) or that you are taking home are put under the table. It’s not a bad idea to make a “Reserved” sign just in case.
Stop by the sign up table. We do a free raffle at every swap so if you’ve brought something along for the raffle leave it at this table. You’re welcome to drop off any food or drinks for the pot-luck at the food table. Make sure you sign the sign-in book and grab a name tag so everyone knows who you are.
Now comes the fun part, walk around, meet people, check out everyone else’s plants and and start trading! Don’t be shy, if you are a bit hesitant at first, you can hang around your table and wait for a few people to come by and visit. Just tell them that this is your first swap and they will probably take you right under their wing.
That’s all there is to it! Well… that, eating, meeting new gardening friends, talking plants and a whole lot of fun!
